Neurodevelopmental Research Center for Children & Families
Neurodevelopmental Research Center for Children & Families
OnePlace, a non profit organization, will be a revolutionary healthcare campus for children and their families facing neurodevelopmental challenges. An estimated 250,000 San Diegans are affected by these challenges that include autism, epilepsy, early childhood trauma, dyscalculia, dyslexia, ADHD and other learning disabilities. Families will be able to receive over twenty different clinical services from multiple healthcare systems working together and interface with physicians, researchers, and therapists (without silos) to receive the most effective and personalized treatment. Additionally, collaborators like UCSD, SDSU, Rady Children’s Hospital, Salk Institute and Sanford Consortium along with leading biotech companies will pool their research data, resources, and efforts together to conduct clinical trials and advance neuroscience. OnePlace will also be a clinical pediatric ecosystem for medical students in residency, continuing medical education as well as an education resource for teachers and parents. Not only will OnePlace serve families in need, but it also showcase the kind of work being done locally with research, education and biotech in our community. It will be the first child and family patient centric healthcare cooperative model of its kind . Groundbreaking is expected in 2024.
